Cyclopentasiloxanes are used cosmetics and personal care products, due to their excellent skin and hair conditioning properties, making the hair soft and smooth.

Cysteine and similar amino acids function primarily as skin and hair conditioner. In our hair care, hair styling and color remover products we use Cysteine as it is known to make the hair soft and smooth.

Decyl Glucoside is used as surfactant in hair care products. Surfactants help to clean skin and hair by helping water to mix with oil and dirt so that they can be rinsed away.

Decyltetradecanol enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. Further, it helps to give the product the desired consistency. In hair colorants and care products it is used to soften dry and damaged hair and to help reducing tangles and surface roughness.

Dextrin functions by increasing the solubility of water-insoluble compounds. Hair care products as creams are then able to achieve a more stable, smooth, and uniform texture.

Diammonium Dithiodiglycolate is used together with Ammonium Thioglycolate to extend the time window for the application to reach a certain perm strength.

Diamond Powder is a great exfoliator, gentler than most others and has skin-brightening and imperfection-disguising abilities wherefore it is often used in skin care products. In Hair Care it is used as diamond dust reflects light and gives a luminous, pearlescent finish to the hair. It also helps to keep the natural texture of the hair and the color at its full potential.

Dicaprylyl Ether is used in Shampoos, Conditioners, Hair Colorants and Leave On Treatments due to its fast spreading capabilities, and is thus used to improve application by helping facilitate the spreadability of the product. With its emollient properties it helps to smoothen and soften the hair while providing a dry and non-greasy, silky feel, unlike most emollients, especially in leave on treatments.

Dicaprylyl Maleate is mainly used as film former and hair conditioner. It dries to form a thin coating on the hair that helps to increase the softness or smoothness of hair, reduce tangles and hair surface roughness.Dicaprylyl Maleate enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. It is also used to dissolve other substances.

Dicetyl Phosphate is an anionic emulsifier used both to keep the product consistency stable over time and across a range of storage temperatures. In colorants is is used to maintain consistency across the whole range of dye loads necessary to create the broad shade portfolio. Dicetyl Phosphate is used to create a gel network, which is a particular type of cream structure. Additionally this emulsifier helps to keep the cream structure of the colorant constant when mixed with a developer.

Dicetyldimonium Chloride is used in our products as antistatic and hair conditioner. It eliminates "fly-away hair" while leaving hair manageable, soft and tangle free as well as easy to comb in wet and dry stage.

Diisopropyl Adipate acts as lubricants on the skin's surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It is also used to dissolve other substances to soften synthetic compounds by reducing brittleness and cracking. for this reason we use it in some of our products to enhance product performance for application.

Dimethicone works as an anti-foaming agent, skin protectant and skin and hair conditioner. It prevents water loss by forming a barrier on the skin. Like most silicone materials, Dimethicone has a unique fluidity that makes it easily spreadable and, when applied to skin or hair, gives products a smooth and silky feel. It can also help fill in fine lines/wrinkles on the face.

Dimethiconol enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.Dimethiconol also acts as an Anti Foaming ingredient to avoid foam while shaking or during production of a product.

Dimethyl Ether works as a solvent, aerosol propellant and viscosity decreasing (reducing thickness) in cosmetic products. As a solvent, it prevents other ingredients from separating from a solution, and helps cosmetic formulations maintain their clarity even when they've been exposed to extreme temperatures.Dimethyl Ether is as a gas in aerosol propellants, to expel the product through the nozzle with pressure.

Dimethyl Stearamine is an antistatic and hair conditioning ingredient. It eliminates "fly-away hair" and leaves hair easy to comb, flexible, soft and shiny.

'Dioscorea Villosa (Wild Yam) Root Extract can be used for skincare products for its known moisturizing effect whereby it enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.It also can be used for anti-aging, as an antioxidant and for its anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory property assists in lessening swelling which when used in a lotion keeps the skin looking fresh.

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a skin conditioner with anti-inflammatory properties used in perms. It helps to enhance the appearance of dry skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.

Dipropylene Glycol helps to dissolve or suspend other ingredients in a formulation without chemically altering the other ingredients. In Hair Colorants and Care products it is mainly used as Solvent and for its moisturizing properties while in Styling products it provides easy spreadibility and therefore it enhances application.

Disiloxane enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.Disiloxane also acts as an Anti Foaming ingredient to avoid foam while shaking or during production of a product.

Disodium EDTA is a chelant which binds to and deactivates several types of metal ions. The effect helps to boost the preservative system of our products. In Colorants this helps to preserve the intended color result and product stability in case of metal ion exposure during manufacturing of the tint.

Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate​ is used mainly as surfactant to improve foaming and hair cleaning properties in shampoos.

Disodium Phosphate functions as pH Buffer,e.g. in Developers keeping the pH at a desired level for product stability and consumer safety.

Disperse Black 9 imparts black color however, the exact color result will depend on the other ingredients that are used in the preparation and the starting color of the hair.

Disperse Blue 377 imparts blue color to hair however, the exact color result will depend on the other ingredients that are used in the preparation and the starting color of the hair.

Disperse Red 17 imparts red color to hair however, the exact color result will depend on the other ingredients that are used in the preparation and the starting color of the hair.

Disperse Violet 1 imparts violet color to hair however, the exact color result will depend on the other ingredients that are used in the preparation and the starting color of the hair.

Distearyl Ether improves the products texture while it imparts a pearlescence to the final product. Due to its emollient and moisturizing properties it softens skin and hair and provides sheen.

Distearyldimonium Chloride mainly functions as an Antistatic. It reduces static electricity by neutralizing electrical charge on a surface. As hair conditioning ingredient it increases the softness and smoothness of hair.

DMDM Hydantoin is a preservative, that prevents or retards microbial growth, thereby protecting cosmetics from spoilage.

Ecklonia Radiata Extract is known to condition the hair by providing softness and smoothness to the hair, by reducing tangles and reducing hair surface roughness.

EDTA and its salts bind to metal ions in order to inactivate them. The binding of metal ions helps prevent the deterioration of cosmetics and personal care products. It also helps to maintain clarity, protect fragrance compounds, and prevent rancidity.These ingredients form complexes with calcium, magnesium, and iron, which allows for better foaming and cleaning performance of cosmetics and personal care products. By binding with metal ions, these ingredients prevent the metals from being deposited onto the hair, scalp and skin.In Colorants this helps to preserve the intended color result and product stability in case of metal ion exposure during manufacturing of the tint.

Equisetum Arvense Extract is used in Shampoos, Conditioners and Scalp treatments as it is known to have astringent and cell renewing properties as well as stimulating the metabolism due to its high level of silicic acid. Horsetail extract helps eliminating excess oil from skin and hair.By containing a high amount of minerals it helps to keep moisture in hair and skin and to accelerate the healing of bones and wounds by rebuilding injured tissue.In general it facilitates the absorption of calcium by the body, which nourishes nails, skin, hair, bones, and the body’s connective tissue.

Erythorbic Acid is used in our products mainly as antioxidant. Antioxidants scavenge oxygen molecules or interrupt the formation of free radicals (which happens when oxygen molecules react with other species). Without antioxidants cosmetic products might spoil (turn rancid), change colors, or otherwise degrade in quality or shelf life.

Ethanolamine is used in our demi-permanent hair colorants instead of Ammonia. In principle it has the same function - swelling the hair and open the cuticle to enable diffusion of dye molecules to deposit into cuticle layer. While permanent hair colorants are long-lasting, demi-permanent products containing MEA wash-off after 24-30 washes.In our color conditioners we use MEA to enable dye molecules to penetrate into cuticle layer instead of depositing on the hair surface to intensify the color refreshing effect.Ethanolamine is further used as feedstock in the production of detergents, emulsifiers, polishes, pharmaceuticals, corrosion inhibitors, and chemical intermediates. For example, reacting ethanolamine with ammonia gives ethylenediamine, a precursor of the commonly used chelant, EDTA.

Ethoxydiglycol is mainly a solvent and it simply helps molecules to dissolve and, thus to properly function, in our products. Ethoxydiglycol in some products it is also used as viscosity adjusters to increase/decrease the thickness of the products.

Ethyl Ester of PVM/MA Copolymer functions as binder, film former and hair fixative. Upon drying, it forms a thin coating on the hair.

Ethylene Glycol Distearate is mainly used as opacifier in our products. It makes our product looking opaque and gives a pearlescent effect to the formulation.

Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate or Octinoxate is an UV Absorber and it is used in products that are applied to the skin and hair (such as Hair & Body Sun spray) to absorb, reflect or scatter UV rays. This serves to protect the skin from sunburn as well as other damaging effects of the sun to skin and hair. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate also protects cosmetics and personal care products from deterioration caused by UV rays.

Ethylhexyl Salicylate is used as an ultraviolet light absorber to protect cosmetics and personal care products from deterioration by UV rays. While TEA-Salicylate is also an FDA-approved over-the-counter active sunscreen ingredient, its use today is very limited or non-existent (see Safety Information tab).

Ethylhexyl Stearate is mainly a skin conditioning ingredient and it acts primarily as lubricant on the skin's surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. In our products, Ethylhexyl Stearate is used as hair conditioner. It helps to increase the softness and smoothness of hair, reduce tangles and surface roughness.

Ethylhexyl Triazone is an UV absorber, which means that the ingredient can be added to products that are designed to protect the skin and the hair from the sun. Ethylhexyl Triazone can also be used to protect the product from deterioration by absorbing, reflecting or scattering UV light.

Ethylhexylglycerin functions as skin and hair conditioner as it nourishes to improve the look and feel of dry skin and hair. Ethylhexylglycerin has also been reported to enhance the function of some preservatives.

Ethylparaben is a preservative and helps prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mold, protecting both products and consumers. Parabens in general are highly effective and widely used preservatives that enhance the shelf life and safety of products including all types of cosmetics, as well as foods and drugs, and protect the families who trust and enjoy them. The most commonly used parabens in cosmetics are methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben.

Etidronic Acid is used as a chelant and antioxidant, fighting the formation of free radicals, e.g. in developers. It prevents degradation of peroxides by capturing metal ions, stabilizes the product during manufacture, and ensures product stability over time.

Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax helps to keep an emulsion from separating into its oil and liquid components, especially in products that require a creamy consistency.Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax is a film forming conditioner that provides a waxy texture and moisturization.Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax may also used to perfume the product.

Ext. Violet 2 is a violet colorant and either alone or in combination with other ingredients, imparts color to most of our products. We also use it as direct dye in color Care and Silver Shampoos to refresh Hair Color and remove yellowness on blond hair and to amplify a cool blond tone.

'Farnesol is a component of the fragrance in our products which emphasizes the odors of sweet floral perfumes. It's also been used as a flavoring additive in other consumer products because of its anti-bacterial activity.

Ferric Ferrocyanide is a colorant and either alone or in combination with other ingredients, it imparts color to our products respectively imparts color to hair strands by adsorbing on hair surface.

Formic Acid is used in some of our demi permanent hair colorants as well as in styling products like hairspray and styling gel / mousse. It is used as pH Adjuster to ensure a product's pH is at a desired level for product stability and consumer safety. In Hair Care Products it is also functions as Preservative to ensure a safe product over shelf-life. In the food industry Formic Acid may be used as a synthetic flavoring substance.
