Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract is popular for beauty products due to its high level of absorption because of the smaller size of its molecules (they are smaller than water molecules!). Therefore, sugar maple extract can deliver its host of nutrients into the skin and hair. The main reason it is used in skin care is that it contains natural AHA acids, namely Malic and Tartaric, and hence why it supposedly helps slough off dead skin cells in combination with other acid-containing fruit extracts. It removes bacteria and dead skin buildup on the skin, repairing damage caused by free radicals and preventing new blemishes and wrinkles from forming.

It is also used in many other personal care product types including makeup, lotions, fragrance, shaving, oral care and skin care products where it functions as an antifoaming agent, cosmetic astringent, solvent, and viscosity adjuster.

Algin is a natural viscosity adjuster that also provides an enhanced feel on the skin. It leaves skin feeling intensely hydrated, and looking and feeling more supple and noticeably radiant.Algin can also be added to products for its specific fragrance.

Allantoin is mainly a skin and scalp conditioning ingredient. Allantoin is known to provide useful cell-proliferating, healing, and moisturizing properties that are suitable for several dermatologic conditions.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract is mainly used in skin care products. It is an excellent moisturizer, it promotes skin elasticity and prevents skin aging. Aloe-derived ingredients enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.It soothes itching and reduces redness and it is excellent in calming sunburn or redness caused by the cold. For the scalp, it helps collagen production and delay alopecia (hair loss). Historically it has been believed that Aloe improves wound-healing and skin inflammation. In our products it is mainly used as hair conditioner as it helps to increase the softness or smoothness of hair, reduce tangles and hair surface roughness.

Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone is a safe synthetic compound used a lot in cosmetic to fragrance by reproducing the smell of violets, with a sweet and powdery touch. Ionone were discovered by Tiemann in 1893, changing the face of perfumery by giving an alternative to very rare, unaffordable or volatile flower oils. They are now used in different forms, including Alpha-Isomethyl, in almost every fragrance.

Aminomethyl Propanol is used to adjust the pH of cosmetic products. It is an alkaline substance which allows to increase the pH.It is used to adjust the pH of a formulation to ensure a product's pH is at a desired level for product stability, consumer safety and product performance.

Ammonia is added to cosmetic products to adjust the pH. When used in hair dyes and colorants, Ammonia helps prepare the hair so that the dye can diffuse into the hair shaft and deposit. In this way Ammonia functions as the alkalizer for permanent hair colorants.

Ammonium Bicarbonate is added to our products to 'dial-in' the pH of a cosmetic product into a specification range to ensure a the pH is at a desired level for product stability and consumer safety.

Ammonium Chloride is used as a Viscosity Adjuster. It is basically used to alter the viscosity of liquid cosmetic products by stabilizing the structure to keep the viscosity level constant over shelf-life.

Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate is a surfactant that helps with the mixing of oil and water. As such, it can clean the skin and hair by helping water to mix with oil and dirt so that they can be rinsed away.

Ammonium Persulfate helps to decolorize or lighten hair by oxidizing the colors present in the hair shaft.

Ammonium Sulfate is used to thicken the consistency and buffer pH within our hair colorants. A buffer is a compound which absorbs swings in acidity or alkalinity without a large change in pH. Also, at relatively high pH, Ammonium Sulfate can be a source for Ammonia, the main alkalizer in most permanent hair colorants.

Ammonium Thioglycolate modifies hair fibers to facilitate changes to the structure of the fibers, such as with permanent waves or with hair straightening. It is also used to chemically break down hair fibers so that unwanted hair can be removed by simply wiping it from the skin.

Aqua/ Water/ Eau used in our products is purified and sterilized. It helps to maintain the stability of a product formulation, appearance and texture. Water is primarily used as a solvent in cosmetics and personal care products in which it dissolves many of the ingredients that impart hair and skin benefits, such as Conditioners and Cleansing ingredients.

Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil) functions as skin and hair conditioner. It is known to nourish, improve the look and feel of dry skin and hair.

Ascorbic Acid and its salts are used in the formulation of our products mainly as antioxidant. Antioxidants are cosmetic ingredients used to prevent product spoilage through deterioration caused by reaction with oxygen. Antioxidants play a vital role in maintaining the quality, integrity, and safety of cosmetic products. In general Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is used in skin care products where it plays a vital role in healing wounds and photo-damaged skin. It is also a great natural moisturizer as it enhances the protective barrier function of the skin.

Ascorbyl Palmitate is an Antioxidant and can protect both the skin and the product itself from radical damage. It inhibits reactions favored by oxygen, thus avoiding oxidation and rancidity.

Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract​ contains minerals such as zinc, calcium, copper and potassium which are essential for hair growth. Polyphenols (antioxidants) contained in Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract​ promote shiny and soft hair.

Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter functions as hair conditioner, it penetrates into the hair, softens and moistures the hair due to a film-forming structure, Manageability in wet & dry hair is improved and it helps to provide shine.

Avobenzone has the ability to absorb ultraviolet light across the whole UVA range and then convert it to less damaging infrared radiation (heat). It is the global gold standard of UVA protection and is the most used UVA sunscreen in the world. We use it in our special sun protection Hair Care and Styling products in combination with stabilizers to prevent the hair getting damaged caused by UV light. it helps increasing the stability of hair colors, preventing natural or synthetic hair dyes from fading in the sun.
