1,2-Hexanediol is mainly used as solvent as it helps to dissolves other substances. It also functions as hair conditioner as it helps to increase the softness or smoothness of hair, reduce tangles and hair surface roughness. Moreover it is also used as preservative as it has been reported to have some antimicrobial activity. Often serves to increase the antimicrobial activity of other preservatives.

2-Amino-3-Nitrophenol is a hair colorant. It is mainly used in semi-permanent hair colorants. 2-Amino-3-Nitrophenol and the other Amino Nitrophenols are also used as toners in permanent hair dyes but they do not interact with Oxidizers.

2,4-Diaminophenoxyethanol Sulfate is classified as Hair Colorant and is used in the formulation of permanent hair dyes, colors, and tints where color is produced inside the hair fiber. Here it helps as coupler to impart color to the hair. The exact color obtained depends on the other ingredients that are used in the preparation and the starting color of the hair.

4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor is used in hair products (shampoo, conditioner, sprays) as UV Absorber to protect hair against UV rays.Sun, respectively UV rays cause damage of hair and it becomes rough and brittle, making it more difficult to comb and more porous and it gets dull. In addition, as a result of the higher porosity of hair, caused by UV, one can find increased color fading in the case of colored hair. Therefore the resistance of colored hair against fading due to washing out and breakdown of color molecules can be improved by protecting the hair against UV-rays. 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor is mainly used in our Hair Care Sun liquid products.

6-Methoxy-2-Methylamino-3-Aminopyridine HCl provides a green blue nuance when used in combination with ME+ and N,N-Bis.

Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract is popular for beauty products due to its high level of absorption because of the smaller size of its molecules (they are smaller than water molecules!). Therefore, sugar maple extract can deliver its host of nutrients into the skin and hair. The main reason it is used in skin care is that it contains natural AHA acids, namely Malic and Tartaric, and hence why it supposedly helps slough off dead skin cells in combination with other acid-containing fruit extracts. It removes bacteria and dead skin buildup on the skin, repairing damage caused by free radicals and preventing new blemishes and wrinkles from forming.

Acetyl Glucosamine is mainly used as skin or scalp conditioning. It enhances the appearance of dry or damaged scalp by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.

Achillea Millefolium Extract is used in Shampoos and Conditioners to reduce the appearance of dry or damaged hair. It is also effective for treating dandruff, itchiness, scalp irritation and oily scalp as it anti-inflammatory and detoxing properties. It is also meant to help counteract hair loss.

Acid Blue 9 is used as direct dye in semi-permanent hair colorants, in the formulation of hair coloring products and other cosmetic products.

Acid Orange 7 imparts a color to hair, or, at very low concentration, helps to give color to the product. Hair colorants - direct dyes are an extremely wide variety of molecules that are already intensely colored. Hair colorants - direct dyes are mostly used in semi-permanent products as they don't penetrate very deeply into the hair.

Acrylates/ C1-2 Succinates/ Hydroxyacrylates Copolymer is used in hair styling products as it helps hair hold its style by inhibiting the hair's ability to absorb moisture.

Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer is used to increase the thickness of a product to ensure exactly the viscosity needed for ideal product usage.

Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is used to increase the thickness of a product to ensure exactly the viscosity needed for ideal product usage. It also helps to stabilize emulsions and therefore improves shelf-life.

Alanine is mainly used as hair conditioner. It helps to leave hair easy to comb, soft and shiny. As antistatic it reduces static electricity by neutralizing electrical charge on the hair surface. This helps to prevent frizz.

Alcohol Denat. is a solvent, it simply helps molecules to dissolve and, thus to properly function, in our products. In cosmetics, Denatured alcohol provides a feeling of freshness (aftershave, deodorants or perfumes). Denatured alcohol contributes to the texture of products by preventing separation and crystallization. It is also used in many other personal care product types including makeup, lotions, fragrance, shaving, oral care and skin care products where it functions as an antifoaming agent, cosmetic astringent, solvent, and viscosity adjuster.

Algin is a natural viscosity adjuster that also provides an enhanced feel on the skin. It leaves skin feeling intensely hydrated, and looking and feeling more supple and noticeably radiant.Algin can also be added to products for its specific fragrance.

Allantoin is mainly a skin and scalp conditioning ingredient. Allantoin is known to provide useful cell-proliferating, healing, and moisturizing properties that are suitable for several dermatologic conditions.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract is mainly used in skin care products. It is an excellent moisturizer, it promotes skin elasticity and prevents skin aging. Aloe-derived ingredients enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. It soothes itching and reduces redness and it is excellent in calming sunburn or redness caused by the cold. For the scalp, it helps collagen production and delay alopecia (hair loss). Historically it has been believed that Aloe improves wound-healing and skin inflammation. In our products it is mainly used as hair conditioner as it helps to increase the softness or smoothness of hair, reduce tangles and hair surface roughness.

Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone is a safe synthetic compound used a lot in cosmetic to fragrance by reproducing the smell of violets, with a sweet and powdery touch. Ionone were discovered by Tiemann in 1893, changing the face of perfumery by giving an alternative to very rare, unaffordable or volatile flower oils. They are now used in different forms, including Alpha-Isomethyl, in almost every fragrance.

Aminomethyl Propanol is used to adjust the pH of cosmetic products. It is an alkaline substance which allows to increase the pH.It is used to adjust the pH of a formulation to ensure a product's pH is at a desired level for product stability, consumer safety and product performance.

Ammonia is added to cosmetic products to adjust the pH. When used in hair dyes and colorants, Ammonia helps prepare the hair so that the dye can diffuse into the hair shaft and deposit. In this way Ammonia functions as the alkalizer for permanent hair colorants.

Ammonium Bicarbonate is added to our products to 'dial-in' the pH of a cosmetic product into a specification range to ensure a the pH is at a desired level for product stability and consumer safety.

Ammonium Chloride is used as a Viscosity Adjuster. It is basically used to alter the viscosity of liquid cosmetic products by stabilizing the structure to keep the viscosity level constant over shelf-life.
