Trisodium Phosphate

Trisodium Phosphate is classified as chelating agent, which are ingredients that have the ability to complex with and inactivate metallic ions in order to prevent their adverse effects on the stability or appearance of cosmetic products. At times it is important to complex calcium or magnesium ions which are incompatible with a variety of cosmetic ingredients. Chelation of ions, for example iron or copper, helps retard oxidative deterioration of finished products.Trisodium Phosphate is also used to adjust the pH of a formulation to ensure the product's pH is at a desired level for product stability and consumer safety.
